Estate Manager & Caretaker Couple — Saint-Tropez
Two permanent full-time roles, live-on-estate
€5,000–€6,000 net / month + bonus

EED is delighted to be representing a VVIP family seeking an experienced, hospitality-trained couple to run their private estate in Saint-Tropez. The new couple will take over from a couple who have served the household since 2014 and are now retiring. These are two full-time, permanent roles, with a long, supported handover.
The estate is around 1,500m² across two properties: a five-bedroom main villa and a four-bedroom guest villa. The couple keep it running year-round and act as the on-site point of contact whether the family is in residence or away.
The roles split naturally. One partner leads estate management and technical upkeep: grounds, pool, tennis court, home automation, security, first-line maintenance, supplier and works coordination, budget and reporting, and day-to-day contact with the family office. The other leads the interior: housekeeping, laundry and fine linens, care of valuables and art, meal preparation and table service, and preparing the villas for arrivals and events.
The year has a clear rhythm. The busy period runs from mid-July to mid-September, when the family and up to 25 guests are in residence, supported by a full team (chefs, drivers and 5–6 additional staff) working alongside the couple. The mid period runs from mid-April to mid-July and again from September to mid-October, usually weekends only, with laundry staff and cleaners in support. From the end of October to mid-April is quiet, with gardeners and technicians on site, and the couple can take holiday. The couple must be based at the property throughout the busy and mid periods.
A fully furnished private home on the estate is provided, with all costs covered. Family cars are available for work use, and for personal travel on request.
Key Responsibilities
- Estate management: grounds, pool, tennis court, home automation, security and first-line maintenance
- Estate management: supplier and works coordination, budget and reporting, and day-to-day liaison with the family office
- Interior: housekeeping, laundry and fine linens, and care of valuables and art
- Interior: meal preparation and table service
- Preparing both villas for arrivals, large stays and private events
- Working alongside and coordinating seasonal staff during busy periods
- Acting as the on-site point of contact year-round
Candidate Requirements
- A couple, with each partner holding the relevant skills for their side of the role
- At least 5–7 years in luxury hospitality, Relais & Châteaux, or prestigious private villas and residences
- French essential, with good English
- Right to live and work in France
- Estate partner: team management, strong technical knowledge (electrical, plumbing, pool, home automation), budget and supplier oversight
- Interior partner: high-standard residence management, laundry and ironing of fine fabrics, meal preparation and table service
- Experience hosting large stays and private events
- Full driving licence (Category B)
- Absolute discretion, with a clean French criminal record (Bulletin No. 3)
- Strong references from comparable long-term placements
- Italian or another language strongly preferred
- Experience managing seasonal staff and contractors strongly preferred
- Confident with office software and home automation interfaces strongly preferred

- Salary: €5,000–€6,000 net per month for the couple, plus bonus, depending on experience
- Two permanent full-time contracts under the French domestic employees’ collective agreement
