A family living near Welwyn need a nanny to take sole charge of their three-year-old son four days a week. He is at school, which is why the hours are split during term time. As both parents go into London, you will be in sole charge, and because the family have a cleaner the job is nanny duties only.

• Location: near Welwyn, Hertfordshire
• Days: Monday to Thursday
• Term-time hours: 7am to 9am and 3.30pm to 7.30pm
• Holiday hours: 8am to 7pm, for 19 weeks of the year
• Mornings: the family could offer two or three mornings instead if that works better for you, though they would like some mornings covered if possible
• Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum
• Start: as soon as possible

A typical day

• In term time: doing the school run, giving him some relaxed time after school, cooking a fresh meal, playing together and doing bath time before his parents get home
• In the holidays: arranging playdates and days out
• Nanny duties only, as a cleaner looks after the house
