Live-in Nanny Housekeeper – Oxshott, Surrey (near Cobham) – £45,000 gross a year – permanent, starting January 2027

A friendly, busy and well-run family in Oxshott would like a warm, energetic and experienced nanny housekeeper to live in with them. There are two little ones at home, aged 5 months and 18 months, and older children who are away at boarding school and university. The house is a large, modern eight-bedroom property with an established household team already in place.

To begin with, around 80% of the job is childcare; as the children get older, more housekeeping will gradually be added. You will share care with Mum at times and take sole charge at others, so you need to be just as happy leading on your own as working alongside her. Getting on well with Mum matters a great deal to the family, so they are looking for someone kind, adaptable and confident.

• Location: Oxshott, Surrey, near Cobham
• Salary: £45,000 gross per annum
• Hours: Monday to Friday, from when the children wake (roughly 6am to 7am) until about 6pm
• Start: January 2027
• Contract: permanent, live-in
• Accommodation: your own en-suite bedroom on the top floor of the family home
• Driving: essential; a car is provided while on duty
• Pets: three small dogs
• Extra income: the chance to earn substantial extra money through paid evening and weekend work, at generous agreed flat rates

Looking after the children

• Loving, attentive care for both children that suits their ages, on your own and together with Mum
• Play, activities and outings that help them develop, with a sound grasp of developmental milestones
• Encouraging early language, physical skills, social skills and independence
• Setting up good daily routines for feeds, sleep, play and activities
• Helping with weaning, making healthy meals and snacks, and supporting potty training when the time comes
• All the usual nursery duties: bottles, the children's laundry, clothes and bedding, and keeping their bedrooms and play areas clean and tidy
• Keeping the childcare app up to date with feeds, sleeps and other key details so handovers with Mum run smoothly
• Making sure the children are safe, happy and well at all times

Laundry and help around the house

• Helping with the household laundry, ironing and care of clothes
• Light housekeeping and general organisation of the home alongside the existing team
• Working well with the other staff so the house runs smoothly

What the family are looking for

• A professional nanny with solid experience of babies and toddlers
• Good knowledge of baby and toddler safety, early development, milestones and age-appropriate care
• Able to juggle the routines and needs of a baby and a toddler at the same time
• A warm, nurturing and patient nature, with real enthusiasm for childcare
• Plenty of energy and a positive outlook to keep up with a busy household
• Comfortable with both sole charge and shared care, and happy to work flexibly with Mum
• Organised and proactive, and confident keeping daily records on a childcare app
• Willing to take on laundry and housekeeping as the role grows
• At ease working within an established household team
• A driving licence that is full, valid and clean
• An enhanced DBS certificate and a current paediatric first aid certificate, or willingness to get both before you start
• Discretion, professionalism and respect for the family's privacy
