Housekeeper / Family Assistant – Southfields, London SW19 – £48,000–£50,000 gross per year
A family in Southfields wants an experienced, warm and reliable Housekeeper / Family Assistant to look after the smooth everyday running of their home. The job brings together high-standard housekeeping, healthy family cooking, household organisation, school collections and caring for the family's two dogs. They would also value someone kind and personable who is happy to offer friendly companionship and practical help, with a calm, reassuring manner, discretion and the knack of anticipating what the family needs.

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am or 11am until 7pm
- Salary: £48,000–£50,000 gross per year

- Children: two, aged 15 and 12

Duties
- General housekeeping and cleaning, keeping the home to a high standard
- Laundry, ironing and care of clothes and household linen
- Cooking fresh, healthy family meals
- Grocery and household shopping, plus errands
- Keeping the house organised, tidy and running smoothly
- Helping with school collections and the occasional family arrangement
- Walking, feeding and looking after the two dogs
- Arranging fresh flowers, caring for house plants and seeing to the small touches that make a home welcoming and well presented
- Offering friendly companionship and practical day-to-day help
- Being proactive with household tasks and anticipating the family's needs
About you
- A background as a Housekeeper or Family Assistant, or a comparable role in a private home
- Very strong organisation and housekeeping standards
- Confident cooking healthy, home-made family meals
- Kind, warm, discreet and someone the family can trust
- Caring and considerate by nature, and happy to provide companionship
- A mature, calm and reassuring presence
- Self-motivated, reliable and able to work on your own
- Flexible and willing to help with a range of household and family tasks
- Fluent English and very good communication
- A full, clean driving licence (essential)
The house is about two minutes' walk uphill from Southfields Underground Station, and there is driveway parking if you drive in. This is a permanent, employed position.
