Full-time Housekeeper – Putney, London (SW18) – £60,000–£65,000+ gross per annum

• Location: Putney, South West London (SW18); live-out
• Family: Two children aged 15 and 12; two kittens
• Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 7am–6pm, with flexibility on both sides
• Salary: £60,000–£65,000+ gross per annum, depending on experience
• Contract: Permanent, full time
• Start: ASAP
• Driving: Required; a car is provided for use on duty

A warm and welcoming family is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of their large four-bedroom family home. The role is predominantly housekeeping and household support, with very little childcare: looking after the home, laundry and ironing, shopping, meal planning and family cooking, plus the morning school drop-off and afternoon collection.

There is also an important companionship element. The lady of the house is at home during the day, and the family would like someone who will look after the home beautifully and also enjoy spending time with her. Warmth, personality and a sense of humour matter. The family is relaxed and flexible and is looking for the same in return: there will be quieter periods (fully paid) and occasional times when extra flexibility is needed. This is a lovely long-term position for a trustworthy, experienced Housekeeper who values the personal side of working closely with a family.

Key responsibilities

• Full housekeeping of a large family home, cleaned and maintained to a high standard
• Laundry, ironing and general clothing care
• Grocery and household shopping, meal planning and preparing simple family meals
• Managing household stocks and replenishing essentials
• Morning school drop-offs and afternoon collections; occasional practical support with the children
• Friendly companionship during the day
• Caring for the family’s two kittens as required
• Taking initiative and identifying household tasks without needing direction

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Housekeeper within a private household; confident managing a large family home
• Good family cooking skills; strong laundry and ironing skills
• Fluent spoken English
• Warm, friendly and naturally companionable, with a good sense of humour and a mature outlook
• Highly organised, proactive, flexible and able to manage the working day independently
• Confident driver with a full driving licence
