Job Description

Temporary Home-School Tutor – London and Athens – December to April

  • Location: London (December to February), then Athens, Greece, with a return to London for Easter; a London-based tutor is preferred
  • Contract: December 2026 to April 2027, with potential for extension
  • Hours: London – approximately 8 hours a day, five days a week. Athens – approximately 3 hours a day after school, plus one day at the weekend
  • Accommodation: Available in both London and Athens if required
  • Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

A private family is looking for an exceptional tutor to guide their three children, aged 11, 10 and 6, through a few months of learning across two cities. The children are bright, curious and enthusiastic learners who do best with lessons that spark their imagination. This is a chance for an inspiring educator to shape a truly bespoke education, with the freedom to be creative and the time to get to know each child properly.

Responsibilities

  • London: take full responsibility for home-schooling all three children, following their school's British curriculum, and keep each child fully up to date with their academic programme, working alongside the family's education adviser
  • Athens: provide academic support, consolidation and enrichment alongside the children's normal schooling
  • Bring learning to life through creative, engaging and innovative teaching
  • Plan and deliver individualised programmes adapted to each child's interests, strengths and needs
  • Maintain appropriate academic structure and expectations
  • Work collaboratively with the family and the wider household team, including the rota nannies

Candidates must be / have

  • Qualified and experienced in teaching the British curriculum
  • Confident teaching children across primary and early secondary age groups
  • Creative, enthusiastic and able to make learning engaging
  • Well organised, able to plan and deliver an effective individualised programme
  • Warm, patient and encouraging, while maintaining academic structure
  • Flexible and comfortable in a busy, fully staffed private household
  • Able to travel between London and Athens
  • Comfortable around dogs (the family has a dog at their Athens home)
