EED is delighted to be representing a private family, seeking an exceptional, highly experienced live-out Housekeeper / Household Lead for their villa in The Dunes community, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. This is a genuinely senior position for someone who takes full professional ownership of a large private home — not a role for someone who needs to be directed or checked on. The family is looking for a long-term hire and wants someone with the calibre and track record to match.
The current villa is approximately 7,000 square feet, with a larger villa in the same community planned for next year at approximately 10,000–11,000 square feet, so this is a role that will grow in scope over time. The house has six bedrooms and six bathrooms, plus kitchen, living areas, laundry and outdoor terraces.
The family needs someone who runs the house to a small-hotel or private-villa standard, not a task-list-driven approach. This means seeing what needs doing without being told, planning and finishing the day’s work to a consistent standard, and genuinely owning the house as a professional responsibility.
Cooking is a strong advantage and can meaningfully affect where a candidate lands in the salary range, though it isn’t a condition of hire — a separate morning cook may still be engaged. Work is concentrated in the morning, arriving 07:00 and finishing at 15:00, so the house is complete before the children return from school, with no routine staff presence after that. The schedule is five days a week as standard, with a sixth day possible if preferred, in exchange for extra rest days.
Candidates must be located within commuting distance of the property, with their own accommodation and ready to organise their own transport to and from work.
Key Responsibilities
- Full daily clean of the villa to a small-hotel standard, including the children’s rooms and master bedroom
- Laundry and ironing with careful handling of delicate and fine fabrics
- Kitchen hygiene, outdoor terraces and furniture care
- Disciplined wardrobe and storage care — everything returned to its correct place
- Noticing and following up on faults or supplies independently
- Coordinating calmly with other household staff where needed
- Optional simple cooking or breakfast preparation (uplift on salary)
- Working with genuine discretion around a family with young children
- Taking full professional ownership of the household over the long term
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrable, high-level experience in villas or luxury private homes specifically — ideally with families of comparable standard and scale
- Genuinely self-directed, with a proven ability to take full ownership of a large home over the long term
- Trained to a hotel or private-residence standard, with a meticulous, professional approach — South African, Zimbabwean or equivalently-trained candidates particularly well suited
- Meticulous standard of care with fine textiles, wardrobe and delicate fabrics
- Clear working English
- Valid UAE visa already in place strongly preferred; sponsorship considered only for an exceptional candidate
- Comfortable working the 07:00–15:00 shift, live-out
- Two employer references we can call, ideally from long-tenure placements
- Genuine cooking or professional kitchen experience, particularly breakfast and simple meal preparation, strongly preferred
- Experience coordinating vendors or junior household staff strongly preferred
- Own transport helpful but not required
The Offer
- Salary: AED 10,000–12,000 per month, live-out, reflecting the seniority and long-term nature of this position — final figure confirmed after trial
- 5 days per week standard, 6th day optional with extra rest days agreed
- Community access arranged by the family; public bus from Abu Dhabi is workable
- Professional-grade equipment (Kärcher commercial kit, dishwasher, household products) provided
- Live-out to start; live-in may be discussed later only if the fit proves excellent long-term
- Paid trial of 2–3 days before any contract, followed by a short probation period
- Start date: as soon as a suitable candidate is identified
