FG7042: Full-time Residential Private Educator for Twins (5YO) in Washington DC, USA | $180K-240K PA

£134,000 - £178,000 yearly

Job Description

Full-time Residential Private Educator for Twins (5YO) in Washington, D.C., & New York, USA

Ref: FG7042

EED is delighted to be representing a high-profile international family based between Washington D.C. and New York, seeking an exceptional residential private educator to join their household on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible.

The family have 5-year-old twins who are currently educated at home. The parents are seeking an elite, traditionally-trained educator to take full ownership of the children’s academic development over the next two to three years within a fully homeschooled environment. Both children are bright and inquisitive, and the parents have been explicit about their preferred teaching style. They favour a structured, methodical and academically rigorous approach, with clear progression and measurable outcomes at the centre of daily learning..

The role is purely educational. The family employ full-time nannies, so the educator’s focus will be entirely on teaching, lesson planning, and the children’s academic progress. The family travel frequently — often by private jet — and the educator would be expected to travel with the family, with all expenses fully covered and business class as a minimum standard.

The household is fully staffed with long-tenured team members across personal training, culinary, and childcare. The family invest deeply in the people around them and look for candidates with the same long-term commitment.

Working schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering a structured, academically rigorous home education programme for two children entering Reception / Kindergarten age
  • Designing tailored, methodical lesson plans for each child, with clear academic progression and measurable outcomes
  • Monitoring and reporting on each child’s progress directly to the parents
  • Maintaining academic consistency and routine across multiple residences and travel periods
  • Collaborating professionally with the family’s nannies and wider household team
  • Operating with absolute discretion within a high-profile private household

Candidate Requirements

  • US citizen or holder of valid US work authorisation (Green Card, EAD or equivalent) — essential and non-negotiable
  • Qualified teacher — PGCE / QTS or equivalent international qualification
  • Strong Early Years and KS1 specialism
  • Demonstrable experience in reputable schools, established private education, or formal homeschooling environments
  • Structured, traditional teaching style — explicitly not play-based
  • Prior experience in UHNW or high-profile private households highly desirable
  • Fluent English essential (native level preferred but not strictly required)
  • Female candidate preferred
  • Comfortable with extensive international travel and rotational schedule
  • Complete discretion, professionalism, and NDA comfort essential
  • Open to thorough reference verification

The Package

  • Salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year—flexible for the right candidate
  • Private single-room accommodation provided (not shared)
  • All travel and travel expenses fully covered—business class minimum; private jet travel frequent
  • Long-term placement anticipated (minimum 2–3 years)

Trial Opportunity

The family are open to a paid trial period, particularly during the summer travel season, for a candidate they feel strongly about. That said, once they meet the right person, they will move decisively to commit. This is a family that values time and is unlikely to drag a process out once the right educator is in front of them.
