EED is delighted to be representing a family based in Munich, seeking an exceptional full-time educator for their four sons, aged 4, 5, 7 and 9, all of whom attend international school. This isn’t about replacing their schooling — the family wants a highly qualified educator who can build structured, individualised learning around it and take on a broader educational and developmental role in the boys’ lives.

The successful candidate will support and extend each boy academically, taking into account their different ages and needs, and will coordinate with the international school on curriculum so home learning genuinely complements what they’re doing in class. Beyond that, the role covers building a structured weekly programme, organising educational outings such as museums and cultural visits, and using real-world experiences as learning opportunities in their own right.

The boys are high energy and very active, so sport and outdoor physical development are a core part of the role, not an add-on. Time in nature is encouraged as a hands-on, experiential way of learning. The right candidate will help the boys build curiosity, independence, good habits, confidence and age-appropriate life skills, and will bring energy to weekends and school holidays too.

The family is close-knit and grandparents are closely involved day to day. The household is relaxed and flexible. The role runs on an after-school and weekend schedule with 1–2 days off per week, and both live-in and live-out arrangements can work for the right candidate. This is a long-term position.

Key Responsibilities

• Building and delivering individualised academic support for four boys aged 4, 5, 7 and 9
• Coordinating directly with the international school on curriculum, so home learning genuinely complements classwork
• Teaching German, English and Mathematics across primary age levels
• Structuring a weekly programme covering academic work, physical development, cultural outings and real-world learning
• Organising educational outings such as museums, cultural visits and nature-based experiences
• Actively participating in and coaching the boys through their sport — sailing, basketball, football and tennis
• Bringing energy and structure to weekends and school holidays
• Supporting the development of curiosity, independence, good habits and age-appropriate life skills
• Working collaboratively with the wider family, including grandparents
• Operating with complete discretion within a private household environment (NDA in place)

Candidate Requirements

• EU/EEA right to work in Germany essential
• Native or fluent German, and fluent English — comfortable teaching in both
• Able to teach German, English and Mathematics across primary age levels
• Recognised teaching or early years qualification, with experience adapting to children of different ages in the same household
• Comfortable liaising directly with international school teachers on curriculum
• Genuinely active and sporty — able to coach or confidently join in with sailing, basketball, football and tennis
• High energy, warm and engaging, but structured and academically strong — this is a serious, rigorous role, not a casual companion position
• Comfortable working within a private household with NDA in place
• Available for a long-term commitment
• Excellent, verifiable references essential
• Driving licence useful but not essential
