Children: Two boys aged 12 and 16 (the eldest attends boarding school during term time)

Salary: £25-£30 gross per hour

Hours Required: Monday to Friday, approximately 1:00/2:00 pm to 7:00 pm (approximately 25-30 hours per week). Flexibility to increase hours during the school holidays would be appreciated and agreed in advance.

Driver: Yes - Car provided for use on duty

Overview

A warm and professional family based in Walton-on-Thames are looking to appoint an experienced Nanny Housekeeper to become a valued part of their family.

This is a lovely long-term role, combining after-school childcare with housekeeping and household support. During term time, the earlier part of each afternoon will be spent helping to keep the home running smoothly before collecting the family's 12-year-old son from school and supporting him through the afternoon and early evening. Their eldest son attends boarding school during term time and returns home during the school holidays.

The family are looking for someone who is calm, kind and organised, with a genuine enjoyment of working with older children. They would love to find someone who communicates openly, works proactively and is happy to become a trusted, long-term member of the household.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Collect the family's 12-year-old son from school.
  • Provide a calm, caring and reassuring presence throughout the afternoon and early evening.
  • Prepare meals for the 12-year-old.
  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate supervision and support.
  • Transport the children to clubs, activities and appointments when required.
  • During the school holidays, provide additional childcare and transport both children to activities where required.

Housekeeping

  • Carry out light housekeeping to help keep the home clean, tidy and well organised.
  • Family laundry, including ironing and putting clothes away.
  • Family grocery shopping.
  • Provide basic day-to-day care for the family's cat.
  • Help maintain an organised and efficiently run household.

Household Support

  • Supervise the gardener and tradespeople when required.
  • Receive deliveries and post.
  • Run ad hoc household errands.
  • Assist with the general day-to-day organisation of the family home.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Nanny Housekeeper or in a similar private household role.
  • A calm, kind and caring personality.
  • A genuine enjoyment of working with older children and teenagers.
  • Excellent organisational and housekeeping skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative.
  • Open and honest communication skills.
  • A full driving licence.
  • A valid Paediatric First Aid certificate.
