FN7040: Maternity Nurse, 3 Shifts Per Week in Knightsbridge, London, UK

£350 daily

Job Description

Maternity Nurse, 3 shifts per week — Knightsbridge, London

November 2026 Start

Job Ref: FN7040

EED is proud to be supporting a private family in Knightsbridge who are expecting their newborn in late November. They are seeking an experienced, calm maternity nurse to join a two-person rota team from birth, providing expert round-the-clock care during the critical early months.

You will work 3 days on from Monday morning until Thursday morning before handing over to a second maternity nurse, ensuring seamless continuity of care and routine for the baby across the full rota. The two nurses will work closely together, maintaining consistent handover notes and a shared approach to feeding, sleep, and routine from day one.

This is a live-in position throughout your working shifts. You will room-share with the baby and be on call around the clock, providing attentive, expert support to both the baby and the family.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full care of the newborn during your working shifts — feeding, winding, settling, and nappy changes
  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent feeding routine (breast and/or bottle as directed by the mother)
  • Supporting and coaching the mother with breastfeeding, positioning, and lactation where needed
  • Monitoring the baby's weight, feeding patterns, sleep, and general wellbeing, and reporting any concerns promptly
  • Bathing, dressing, and caring for the baby's skin, cord, and nails
  • Introducing and reinforcing a structured sleep and feeding programme in line with the family's wishes
  • Managing all overnight care so the parents can rest
  • Maintaining a thorough handover log — feeding times and volumes, sleep windows, nappy output, and any notable observations — to ensure full continuity with your rota partner
  • Light laundry related to the baby: washing, sterilising, and organising feeding and nursery equipment
  • Providing reassurance, guidance, and emotional support to new parents during the postnatal period
  • Liaising with the health visitor, midwife, and GP where appropriate
  • Collaborating closely with your rota partner to ensure a seamless, consistent handover each week

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Formally qualified maternity nurse (NNEB, NVQ Level 3, CACHE, or equivalent) with a recognised newborn care qualification
  • Minimum three years' experience as a maternity nurse in private households, with strong verifiable references
  • Calm, steady, and positive — you bring good energy and quiet confidence to the household at all times
  • Warm, nurturing, and genuinely passionate about newborn care and supporting new parents
  • Highly professional and discreet — you respect the privacy and boundaries of the family at all times
  • Comfortable working closely and collaboratively within a two-nurse rota team
  • Currently London-based and available from late November 2026
  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain) and full, verifiable references required
  • Up to date with paediatric first aid
  • Non-smoker

THE PACKAGE:

  • £350 per 24-hour shift (gross)
  • Live-in accommodation provided throughout working weeks — private room sharing with the nursery
  • All meals provided during working shifts
  • 4-6 month initial contract (possibility of extension by mutual agreement)

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly experienced maternity nurse who is confident in establishing healthy newborn routines, responsive to the parents’ preferences, and experienced working within collaborative, fully staffed private households.
