English Language Governess (Primary Years) for Two School-Aged Children in Saudi Arabia (£6K–£8.5K Monthly | Full-time Live-out (accommodation provided) | ASAP

EED is delighted to be representing a distinguished, fully staffed private household based in Saudi Arabia, seeking an experienced English Language Governess to support the education, development, and wellbeing of two school-aged children.

The children attend school five days per week and are already fluent English speakers with a British accent. The family is seeking a highly professional educator with strong Primary Years experience who can provide structured academic support while fostering confidence, curiosity, emotional balance, and a genuine love of learning.

The role combines educational guidance with creativity, enrichment activities, and learning through play. The successful candidate will be energetic, organised, and proactive, capable of delivering high-quality, age-appropriate learning experiences while working collaboratively within a fully staffed household environment.

The family travels extensively throughout the year to destinations including Dubai, London, Paris, Los Angeles, and other international luxury locations. The Governess will accompany the family on travel and should be comfortable with a travel-oriented lifestyle and flexible routines.

For exceptionally experienced candidates, the role may also include elements of children’s coordination, assisting with activity planning and scheduling, and ensuring smooth organisation during travel periods.

Separate live-out accommodation is provided close to the family residence.

WORKING SCHEDULE

Up to 10 working hours per day, with natural breaks during school hours.

  • During school terms: 5 days per week.
  • During summer periods and extended travel: 6 days per week. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the children’s academic development through engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

  • Providing structured homework support, literacy development, and academic enrichment, including familiarity with MAP testing frameworks

  • Encouraging confidence, communication skills, curiosity, and independent thinking

  • Supporting emotional regulation, focus, executive-function skills, and positive learning habits within a structured and nurturing environment

  • Delivering creative, play-based, and experiential learning activities

  • Planning educational and enrichment activities both at home and while travelling

  • Supporting the children’s overall development, well-being, and balanced daily routines

  • Collaborating effectively with parents, teachers, and the wider household team to ensure consistency of approach

  • Accompanying the family on frequent international travel

  • Assisting with children’s schedules, activities, and organisation where required

  • Maintaining a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment that balances academic progress with emotional development

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Native-level English speaker essential

  • Experience teaching Primary Years, British Curriculum, or IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

  • Strong academic background in education or related field

  • PGCE and QTS highly desirable

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant teaching or Governess experience

  • Experience working with academically bright, emotionally sensitive primary-aged children

  • Confident supporting emotional regulation, attention, and executive-function development in a structured learning context

  • Familiarity with MAP testing strongly preferred

  • Creative, energetic, and engaging approach to education

  • Experience delivering learning-through-play and experiential learning activities

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative personality

  • Comfortable working within a fully staffed private household

  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis

  • Experience within private households or HNWI environments highly desirable

  • Former UK prep school teaching experience advantageous

  • Music and/or sports background beneficial

  • First Aid certification desirable

  • Excellent, verifiable references

  • Professional, polished, and discreet at all times

 

THE PACKAGE

  • Salary of £6,000–£8,500 per month depending on qualifications and experience
