FN7049: Maternity Nurse (Primarily nights) for Twins in Paddington, London, UK

£350 daily

Job Description

Maternity Nurse (Primarily nights) for Twins in Paddington, London, to Start late November 2026

EED is proud to be supporting a private family who are expecting twins in London in late November 2026. Following a planned C-section at a leading private London clinic, they are seeking an experienced, warm and capable maternity nurse to take sole charge of the twins overnight, providing expert, settled care from the moment the family returns to their home in Paddington.

This is a night position, working approximately 7pm to 7am, with some flexibility as the family finds its rhythm. The family's flat is large and well-appointed, and the role is most likely best structured as live-out for a candidate based nearby. The maternal grandmother will also be present in the household, providing additional daytime support. The mother has a 3.5-year-old son and is experienced in the demands of the newborn period. We are looking for a calm, confident professional who can take complete ownership of the night so that the family is rested and reassured.

Twin experience is essential for this role. Applications from candidates without verified twin placements will not be considered.

The initial placement runs for approximately seven weeks, from late November 2026 to mid-January 2027. There is a possibility — subject to requirement and availability — of the role extending for a further two to three months in Cyprus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full overnight care of both twins — feeding, winding, settling, nappy changes and all aspects of newborn care throughout the night shift

  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent, synchronised feeding and sleeping routine for both babies — twin scheduling from the earliest nights is a priority for this family

  • Formula and bottle feeding throughout — the mother will likely not be breastfeeding overnight; confident, efficient bottle preparation and feeding is essential

  • Bathing, dressing, and attending to all aspects of the twins' hygiene and comfort during the night shift

  • Monitoring both babies' weight, feeding volumes, sleep patterns and general wellbeing, flagging any concerns promptly

  • Maintaining a clear, thorough overnight log — feeding times and volumes, nappy output, sleep windows and any observations — to hand over to the family each morning

  • Light baby-related laundry: sterilising equipment, preparing bottles, keeping the nursery organised and well-stocked overnight

  • Providing quiet, warm support and reassurance to the mother during night hours where needed — she should feel held and confident, not alone

  • Liaising with the family's health visitor, midwife and paediatrician as appropriate

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Formally qualified maternity nurse (NNEB, NVQ Level 3, CACHE, or equivalent) with a recognised newborn care qualification

  • Verified, recent experience with twins — this is a firm requirement, not a preference. Please include twin placements prominently in your application

  • Minimum five years' experience as a maternity nurse in private households, with strong and verifiable references from recent placements

  • Confident and experienced with formula and bottle feeding; skilled at establishing efficient twin feeding routines that allow both babies to be settled together

  • Warm, calm and emotionally intelligent — this is a busy household and the right person will bring a quiet, grounding presence

  • Mature professional who understands the particular dynamics of a family with a toddler, a grandmother and newborn twins under one roof

  • Paediatric first aid qualification — current and valid

  • Highly discreet and respectful of the family's privacy

  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain) and full, verifiable references essential

  • Non-smoker

  • Available from late November 2026, with flexibility to travel internationally if the Cyprus extension proceeds

THE PACKAGE

  • £350 per day gross, negotiable commensurate with experience — payable weekly

  • Live-in accommodation available within the family's Paddington flat, or live-out for candidates based nearby — to be discussed with the successful candidate

  • All meals provided during working hours

  • Initial seven-week contract from late November 2026 to mid-January 2027, with the possibility of a two- to three-month extension in Cyprus
