EED is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded Kuwaiti family seeking an experienced, engaging and professional teenage companion to provide childcare support for their 13-year-old son during a short summer stay in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident childcare professional who enjoys working with older children and teenagers and can offer a balance of supervision, companionship, independence support and activity planning. The family is looking for a reliable and positive candidate who can act as a trusted presence while helping their son enjoy his time in London through age-appropriate activities, outings and experiences.

The successful candidate will be confident navigating London independently, well-informed about the city’s cultural attractions, museums, sporting venues and family-friendly activities, and able to plan and adapt itineraries based on the boy’s interests.

Working schedule: Approximately 10:00am–5:00pm daily, 20–30 July 2026 (the family may arrive on 20th July, with childcare support potentially commencing on 21st July). Hours may vary slightly depending on the family’s itinerary.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing attentive, age-appropriate care and supervision for a 13-year-old boy
  • Accompanying him to activities, attractions, appointments and outings around London
  • Researching and suggesting suitable activities based on his interests and preferences
  • Assisting with transportation, journey planning and daily logistics
  • Joining him for meals and social activities when appropriate
  • Encouraging independence while maintaining appropriate safeguarding and supervision
  • Acting as a reassuring, trustworthy and engaging companion throughout the family’s stay
  • Maintaining excellent communication with the parents regarding schedules and plans
  • Ensuring the child’s wellbeing, safety and comfort at all times

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification
  • Norland, Montessori, teaching, educational support or youth mentoring experience
  • Proven professional childcare experience with children and/or teenagers of a similar age
  • Experience supporting children within private households, UHNW, VIP or international families advantageous
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and child protection knowledge essential
  • Knowledge of London’s cultural attractions, museums, sports venues and family-friendly activities
  • Warm, friendly, approachable, organised, proactive and highly reliable
  • Professional, discreet and culturally respectful
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
  • Additional language skills welcomed but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS check and valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent professional references covering recent childcare positions
 

THE PACKAGE

  • Daily rate: £250–£300 per day, depending on experience, qualifications and suitability
  • Temporary fixed-term contract: 20–30 July 2026 (inclusive)
  • Approximately 10:00am–5:00pm daily
  • Short-term assignment with a respectful international family visiting London
