£300 - £400 daily

Job Description

Maternity Nurse for Private ROTA Position in Knightsbridge, London, UK

Russian-speaking (significant advantage)

Live-in, 7-days-on / 7-days-off

November 2025 Start

Job Ref: FN7040

EED is proud to be supporting a private family in Knightsbridge who are expecting their newborn in late November. They are seeking an experienced, calm maternity nurse to join a two-person Rota team from birth, providing expert round-the-clock care during the critical early months.

The successful candidate will work one week on, one week off alongside a second maternity nurse, ensuring seamless continuity of care and routine for the baby across the full Rota. The two nurses will work closely together, maintaining consistent handover notes and a shared approach to feeding, sleep, and routine from day one.

This is a live-in position throughout your working weeks. You will room-share with the baby and be on call around the clock, providing attentive, expert support to both the baby and the family. Russian language skills are highly valued within the household and would be considered a significant advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full care of the newborn during working weeks — feeding, winding, settling, and nappy changes
  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent feeding routine (breast and/or bottle as directed by the mother)
  • Supporting and coaching the mother with breastfeeding, positioning, and lactation where needed
  • Monitoring the baby’s weight, feeding patterns, sleep, and general wellbeing, and reporting any concerns promptly
  • Bathing, dressing, and caring for the baby’s skin, cord, and nails
  • Introducing and reinforcing a structured sleep and feeding programme in line with the family’s wishes
  • Managing all overnight care so the parents can rest
  • Maintaining a thorough handover log — feeding times and volumes, sleep windows, nappy output, and any notable observations — to ensure full continuity with rota partner
  • Light laundry related to the baby: washing, sterilising, and organising feeding and nursery equipment
  • Providing reassurance, guidance, and emotional support to new parents during the postnatal period
  • Liaising with the health visitor, midwife, and GP where appropriate
  • The two nurses will work closely together to maintain a consistent approach to feeding, sleep, and routine, keeping detailed handover notes and a comprehensive daily log to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout the rota

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Formally qualified maternity nurse (NNEB, NVQ Level 3, CACHE, or equivalent) with a recognised newborn care qualification
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a maternity nurse in private households, with strong verifiable references
  • Calm, steady, and positive — bringing good energy and quiet confidence to the household at all times
  • Warm, nurturing, and genuinely passionate about newborn care and supporting new parents
  • Highly professional and discreet — respecting the privacy and boundaries of the family at all times
  • Comfortable working closely and collaboratively within a two-nurse rota team
  • Currently London-based and available from late November 2025
  • Up to date with paediatric first aid
  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain) and full, verifiable references essential
  • Non-smoker
  • Russian language skills are a significant advantage

THE PACKAGE:

  • £300–£400 per day gross, commensurate with experience, payable weekly
  • Live-in accommodation provided throughout working weeks — private room sharing with the nursery
  • All meals provided during working weeks
  • 3-month initial contract with possibility of extension by mutual agreement

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly experienced maternity nurse who is confident in establishing healthy newborn routines, responsive to the parents’ preferences, and experienced working within collaborative, fully staffed private households.
