A family based in West Hampstead is seeking an experienced and engaging private tutor to support a 9-year-old boy with his academic development. The role will focus on strengthening core subject knowledge and preparing for 11+ entrance examinations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide structured tutoring across core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning)
• Prepare the student for 11+ entrance exams, including exam techniques and timed practice
• Identify strengths and areas for improvement, tailoring lesson plans accordingly
• Support homework completion and reinforce school learning
• Track progress and provide regular feedback to parents
• Build confidence, motivation, and independent learning skills

SCHEDULE:
Monday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Tuesday or Friday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Saturday: Flexible hours

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience tutoring primary-aged children, ideally with 11+ preparation
• Strong knowledge of the UK KS2 curriculum
• Patient, encouraging, and able to engage young learners effectively
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Relevant academic background (teaching qualification or degree preferred)
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Familiarity with 11+ exam boards
• Experience working with similar age groups in a one-to-one setting

PACKAGE:

• £40 per hour
• £10 travel compensation per session
• In-person tuition at the family home in West Hampstead
