FT7038: Residential British Tutor in Mustique, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines & Porto, Portugal

£2,000 weekly

Job Description

Residential British Tutor in Mustique & Porto

British English speaker with PGCE/QTS qualification & Early Years and KS1 specialism

Job ref: FT7038

EED is delighted to be representing a warm and well-travelled private family currently based in São Paulo, Brazil, who are seeking an exceptional residential tutor to join their household for a full semester at the beginning of January 2027.

The family has two girls — currently aged 4 and 6, turning 5 and 7 during the contract — who are both thriving at their international school in São Paulo, where they are educated bilingually in English and Portuguese. The elder girl is in Year 1, and her younger sister is in Reception. Both children are bright, engaged learners with a love of animals, horse riding and dancing. The family are seeking a dedicated, qualified British teacher to continue their education at home during an exciting period of travel and relocation, delivering the UK National Curriculum across two beautiful locations.

The role is purely educational — the family has a dedicated nanny in place, so the tutor's focus will be entirely on teaching and the girls' academic development.

The Itinerary:

The contract runs from January 2027 to the end of June 2027. The first two months (January and February) will be spent at the family's private residence in Mustique, St Vincent and the Grenadines. From March, the family will relocate to Porto, Portugal, where the role will continue until the end of June. Private accommodation is provided throughout at both locations. The role may be extended according to the girls’ schooling requirements.

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, school-type hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the UK National Curriculum (EYFS and KS1) across both locations
  • Planning and preparing engaging, structured lessons tailored to each child's level and learning style
  • Monitoring and reporting on each child's progress throughout the semester
  • Adapting teaching to a home and travel environment while maintaining structure and consistency
  • Collaborating with the family's nanny and communicating openly with the parents

Candidate Requirements:

  • PGCE/QTS qualified, with a genuine Early Years and KS1 specialism
  • Native British English speaker
  • Experienced working with international families and in non-traditional teaching environments
  • A warm, patient and nurturing manner — an animal lover and an affinity for the outdoors will be a natural fit
  • Enhanced DBS check and fully verifiable references essential
  • Complete discretion and professionalism at all times
  • Driving licence not required
  • Right to work in the EU preferred; visa support available for the right candidate

The Package:

  • Salary of £2,000 per week gross
  • Full-semester contract starting January 2027 and ending June 2027
  • Private single-room accommodation provided throughout (Mustique and Porto)
  • Economy-class flights and all travel expenses covered
  • 2 weeks' paid annual leave
  • 5 days' paid sick leave

Trial Opportunity:

The family are open to offering a paid trial of approximately 10 days in Porto in July 2026 for a candidate who is available. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the girls and the family ahead of the full contract
