EED is delighted to be representing a private international family seeking highly qualified and academically rigorous governors or governesses for their two children—a boy aged four and a half and a girl aged six. The family speaks English, Russian, and Spanish, and this is a serious educational role—the primary requirement is structured, sequenced early years teaching within a clear curriculum framework. It is not a play-based or activity-led position.

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for delivering a structured home education programme designed to prepare both children for formal schooling at the highest level. The family has an ambitious academic trajectory in mind, and the lead educator is expected to operate with authority—building and managing the curriculum, tracking progress against developmental benchmarks, and advising the parents on educational planning. Experience delivering IB or international curricula for the older child is preferred.

For the boy, the role covers early literacy, phonics, numeracy, early mathematics, and structured problem-solving, with physical development, sport, and outdoor activities woven into the daily schedule. He enjoys chess, football, and basketball—the governor should be capable of engaging actively with physical and games-based learning as part of a purposeful routine, not as a substitute for it. For the girl, the focus is on structured, engaging academic lessons in line with international curricula while continuing to foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning within the same disciplined framework.

The family is open to appointing either one exceptional candidate to lead both children’s education or two candidates working in complementary roles—everything is on the table for the right person or people. Whichever structure emerges, the salary offered is per candidate.

The family is currently based across Europe, with summer travel between France and Spain. After the summer the family will relocate—most likely to Dubai or Singapore, with the final decision depending on schooling options at that point. The governor must be genuinely flexible and prepared to travel and relocate at relatively short notice. This is a defining feature of the role, not a peripheral detail.

Working schedule: 8:00am–6:00pm, five days per week, with occasional weekend involvement as required by the family’s schedule.
