Overview

A private family based on the Crown Estate in Oxshott is seeking two experienced live-in household staff members to work together in a shared role supporting two neighbouring private residences.

The positions consist of a Housekeeper and a Handyperson/Gardener, working collaboratively to maintain both homes to a high standard.

The successful applicants will reside in a newly built five-bedroom home currently occupied by an independent elderly gentleman. He does not require personal care; however, the family would value responsible and friendly household staff living at the property who can maintain the home well and provide general household support and reassurance through their presence.

In addition to maintaining this residence, the roles will also involve supporting the family's main home located a few minutes away. Most housekeeping duties will take place at the main residence, ensuring it is consistently maintained to a high standard.

This is a long-term position suited to practical, reliable individuals who are comfortable working across two nearby properties and managing responsibilities independently.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeper Duties

• Full housekeeping of both private residences
• Maintaining formal and informal rooms to a high standard
• Laundry and ironing
• Linen care and wardrobe organisation
• Kitchen and bathroom upkeep
• Monitoring household supplies
• Preparing simple breakfasts or refreshments when required
• Preparing the home for principals and occasional guests

Handyperson and Gardener Duties

• General household maintenance and minor repairs
• Garden maintenance including lawns, hedges and seasonal upkeep
• Maintaining outdoor areas and overall presentation of the grounds
• Overseeing contractors when required
• Driving duties and household errands

Shared Responsibilities

• Maintaining the elderly gentleman's home in excellent order
• Providing a reassuring and respectful presence within the household
• Supporting the smooth running of both properties
• Working flexibly in line with household needs

Requirements

• Proven experience working within private households
• Strong housekeeping skills with attention to detail
• Practical maintenance and gardening experience
• Reliable, discreet and trustworthy
• Kind and respectful manner, comfortable around an elderly gentleman

• Flexible with working hours when required
• Full clean UK driving licence
