Salary: From £2,000 per Week (£8,000+ per Month) + Paid Overtime During Travel

Role Overview

A warm and welcoming private family based in central Paris is seeking a native-level English Governess (clear British accent preferred) who also speaks Russian to support the educational and personal development of their bright 4-year-old daughter.

This is a premium live-in governess role in Paris with international travel, ideal for a highly experienced Early Years education professional who thrives in a private household environment and values long-term impact.

You will work collaboratively with household staff and act as a positive, polished extension of the family, delivering structured learning through engaging, age-appropriate activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide immersive English language development (native-level fluency required)
  • Plan and implement structured Early Years educational programmes
  • Support homework and academic readiness
  • Foster curiosity, creativity, and social confidence through play-based learning
  • Track developmental milestones and proactively plan academic progression
  • Coordinate with parents and household staff to ensure consistency
  • Travel with the family internationally as required
  • Maintain high professional standards of presentation and discretion

Requirements

  • Bilingual: Native-level English (clear British accent preferred) & Russian
  • Qualifications in Early Years, Education, or related field
  • PGCE or teaching background
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Governess or Early Years Educator
  • Experience with 3–6-year-old developmental stages
  • Strong academic planning ability for Reception / KS1 level preparation
  • Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certification
  • Enhanced DBS check (or equivalent background clearance)
  • Excellent, checkable references
  • Professional, well-presented, and discreet
  • Willingness to travel internationally

Schedule & Package

  • 6 days per week
  • Up to 60 hours per week (with daytime break)
  • Additional hours during travel compensated separately
  • Live-in accommodation provided in Paris
  • From £8,000 per month
  • One-month paid annual leave
  • Initial one-year contract (with potential extension)
