About the Role
A wonderful family based in Muscat, Oman is seeking an experienced Head Maternity Nurse to join them from March 2026. This is a 12-month placement, overseeing the care of a newborn alongside two Assistant Maternity Nurses.
The successful candidate will take a lead role in establishing routines, ensuring best practice newborn care, and coordinating the maternity nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, senior maternity professional looking for a long-term overseas placement with a supportive family.
Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the care, safety, and wellbeing of the newborn.
• Lead and coordinate the work of two Assistant Maternity Nurses.
• Establish and maintain feeding, sleep, and daily routines.
• Provide guidance and reassurance to the parents.
• Maintain excellent hygiene and organisation in all baby-related areas.
• Ensure continuity of care across shifts.
• Travel with the family when required.
• Uphold discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior or head maternity nurse.
• Strong newborn care knowledge and leadership skills.
• Comfortable managing and supervising other maternity nurses.
• Strong passport essential and flexible to travel internationally.
• Calm, confident, and highly professional approach.
• Available to start March 2026 for a long-term placement.
