Job Ref: FN7024

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Doha, Qatar
Salary: £1,600–£1,700 per week (negotiable based on experience)

A returning family, well known to the agency, is seeking a highly experienced, nurturing, and professionally qualified English-speaking nanny to care for their 1-year-old daughter. This is a full-time, live-in position based in Doha and is suited to a career nanny with demonstrable experience supporting toddlers within a private household setting.

Proven experience working with a similar age group (12–24 months) in a comparable long-term nanny role is essential. The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of toddler development, including cognitive, language, social-emotional, and gross and fine motor milestones.

The family is looking for a candidate who is confident in implementing developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) and can create a stimulating, secure, and nurturing environment that supports early years learning and independence.

Candidates must hold a recognised childcare-related degree or strong formal childcare qualifications. Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia training is highly preferred and should be supported by practical application experience.

This role requires a professional who is confident working both independently and collaboratively within a fully staffed household.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide sole-charge, high-quality care, ensuring the child’s safety, emotional security, and overall well-being at all times.

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support holistic development across all early years domains (physical, cognitive, communication and language, and personal-social development).

  • Apply Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia principles where appropriate, encouraging independence, sensory exploration, child-led learning, and confidence-building.

  • Support developmental milestones, including early language acquisition, mobility progression, fine motor coordination, and early self-help skills.

  • Establish and maintain consistent daily routines, including feeding schedules, sleep hygiene, structured play, and outdoor activities.

  • Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in line with weaning and toddler nutritional guidelines.

  • Maintain an organised nursery environment, including toy rotation, developmental resources, and wardrobe management.

  • Monitor and document developmental progress where appropriate and communicate regularly with parents regarding routines and milestones.

  • Travel with the family internationally as required.

  • Work collaboratively and respectfully alongside other household staff to ensure a harmonious home environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Native-level English speaker

  • Proven professional experience caring for children within the 1–3 year age group in a similar private household role (essential)

  • Recognised childcare-related degree (e.g., Early Childhood Studies, CACHE Level 3 or above, Norland, equivalent) or strong formal childcare qualifications

  • Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia training preferred

  • Valid DBS check

  • Paediatric First Aid certification

  • Excellent, verifiable references

  • British or EU passport (for ease of travel)

  • Confident traveller with flexibility for international trips

Personal Attributes

  • Warm, nurturing, and emotionally intuitive

  • Professional, reliable, and discreet

  • Proactive and confident in sole-charge care

  • Organised and development-focused

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • A second language would be advantageous
