Recruiter FAQ

Is Jobs in Childcare a recruiter?

Jobs In Childcare is not an agency, nor a recruiter - it is a jobs board. We are a jobs listing site - a place to go to find thousands of high quality candidates all over the world in one convenient place. Agencies and recruiters in the childcare and education industries can come to our site to find a large selection of qualified childcarers, nannies, governors/ governesses, tutors, household staff and more. We also have a large selection of useful resources in the blog area of our site which agencies can feel free to share.

Why should I use Jobs in Childcare?

JIC is great for recruiters thanks to its extensive network of childcarers. Our email list includes nannies, governesses, governors, tutors, housekeepers and more. We will soon open our CV database, which recruiters will also have the option to access when they purchase one of our plans. On top of all this, JIC has a large and ever-growing social media presence, including Facebook and Instagram accounts where we share resources along with some of our top vacancies. At Jobs in Childcare we never stop making connections - so come and connect with us too!

How do I create a profile?

To create a profile, click 'Sign Up' on the homepage, then select ‘Employer’. You can then create an account on the site using your email address, or sign in with LinkedIn or Facebook. From this point you can fill out your recruiter details. You will have the opportunity to provide information including your company name, location, logo, contact details and email address. Please note that the more information you can provide about your company, the more and better quality applications you will get from candidates.

What sort of ads can I place here?

JIC gives you the chance to place a wide variety of vacancies on the site. We currently feature jobs for nannies, mannies, tutors, governors, governesses, home help, maternity nurses, butlers, teachers, sports coaches, personal assistants and more. You can also choose to list your job as full-time, part time, temporary or seasonal. Be aware - job descriptions that do not conform to the EU and UK discrimination requirements (including but not limited to age and gender discrimination) may be edited or removed without warning. Please visit https://www.gov.uk/employer-preventing-discrimination to read about anti-discrimination regulations in more detail.

What sort of information should I include in my job post?

As many details as possible! You should aim to include the location, timetable and as much detail as you can provide about the role as possible. Including a salary range will drastically improve candidates’ interest, and as such should always be included. Once again, please note that more information in the job post will lead to higher quantity and better quality applications from candidates. Pay attention to details - job posts with mistakes in spelling, grammar or poor formatting may be red flags for candidates. If you're not confident with writing, an excellent tool you can use for proof-reading texts is Grammarly.

How many people will see my posts? Who is the audience?

Jobs posted to our site will be seen by our daily site users (5 figures per month at the time of writing) and will also feature on our email list, which is sent out to thousands of job seekers in the childcare industry daily. Jobs that are well presented and selected at random will also be posted to our social media accounts and shared with thousands more job seekers via our Instagram and Facebook pages. To increase job views and applications you also have the option to list a ‘Featured Job’; for more information on this please read on.

What packages are available?

Jobs in Childcare offers a range of payment packages. Please click here to visit our pricing page and find out which plans are available in more detail.

How long will my job posts stay up?

Jobs listed on the site will stay live for a month and are listed chronologically, with the newest positions listing first (after featured jobs).

Can I edit my job post after I’ve already posted it?

Yes of course! In order to edit your job post simply log in to your account and access the employer dashboard and click on 'Job Postings'. From here you will be able to see a list of your active vacancies. Simply click on the job you wish to change to and the job post page will open, allowing you to make changes quickly and easily.

How do I use the CV database?

To use the CV database, log into your account and click the 'CV database' tab in the top right-hand corner. You can filter candidates by location, languages spoken, desired role and type of contract.
