Full-time nanny-housekeeper – Letchworth, Hertfordshire – £40,000 up to £46,800 gross a year – start late January or early February
A Letchworth family is looking for a full-time nanny-housekeeper for their three children. The two eldest, aged 5 and 3, are in school and nursery full-time, and the third child is due in February, so the focus of the job is the baby and the house. The role starts in late January or early February so you can get to know the family before the baby arrives. The job is ongoing, with a commitment of at least a year expected.
- Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
- Children: three, aged 5 and 3, with a newborn due in February
- Days and hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
- Pay: £40,000 up to £46,800 gross per annum, depending on experience
- Start: late January or early February
- Length: ongoing, at least a year
- Driving: a driver with your own car for work use is needed
- Ofsted registration: not required
- Pets: none, and a nanny cannot bring pet hair into the home because of a parent's allergy
- SEN: no special educational needs requirements
How the role develops
- While the mother is on six months' maternity leave, you would help with baby care and light housework; the family do not expect deep cleaning because they use a separate cleaner
- When she returns to work, you would take sole charge of the baby
Housework
- Day-to-day tidying and keeping on top of the kitchen
- The children's laundry
- Cooking and running errands
- Sterilising bottles
About you
- Previous nanny experience looking after children of several ages at once
- A strong communicator with a child-led approach and a keen interest in education and child development
- Sociable and happy to take the children out to activities
- Some flexibility for occasional overtime, including staying overnight with the two older children when the parents are in hospital for the birth
The family have employed long-term nannies before.
