Overview
We are seeking an experienced, formally qualified Rota Nanny to join a UHNW family in Dubai, caring for their active 1-year-old twins. This is a long-term position for a hands-on, nurturing professional with recent experience caring for children of a similar age, who understands the needs, routines and developmental milestones of the toddler stage the twins have just entered.
This is a full nanny role, not a governess position. The family is looking for someone fully comfortable with the practical side of early childcare, from nappy changes and potty training to establishing healthy sleep, feeding and play routines.
You will join a well-structured childcare team of four: two rota nannies and two live-out nannies. The live-out nannies rotate to provide 12 hours of daytime cover, so during the day you will always share care of the twins with a second nanny. Overnight, you will be solely responsible for both children. The family values the wellbeing of their team and gives the rota nanny the flexibility to go into town, work out or take some downtime during nap periods while the live-out nanny watches over the twins.
As Squad Placements is recruiting for both rota positions, established rota nanny pairs with a proven track record of working together are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Childcare: Provide loving, attentive and safe care for 1-year-old twins throughout your rotation, including full sole responsibility for both children overnight.
- Toddler Development: Support the twins through the toddler period, encouraging age-appropriate milestones in language, motor skills, social interaction and independence.
- Daily Care & Routines: Manage all aspects of practical care, including nappy changes, bathing, dressing, feeding and sleep routines, ensuring consistency across the rota.
- Potty Training: Plan and lead potty training when the time is right, working closely with the family and the wider childcare team to keep the approach consistent.
- Activities & Play: Plan engaging, stimulating and age-appropriate activities, indoors and outdoors, suited to two very active toddlers.
- Shared Care & Teamwork: Work in close partnership with the live-out nannies during daytime shared care, and ensure smooth, detailed handovers with your rota counterpart at the end of each rotation.
- Communication with the Family: Keep the parents informed of the children’s progress, routines, health and any concerns, with discretion and professionalism at all times.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe, clean and organised environment for the children, and respond calmly and competently to any illness, injury or emergency.
Requirements
- Rota Experience: Proven experience in a rota nanny position within UHNW households is essential.
- Nanny Experience: Extensive professional experience as a professional nanny is essential, including recent experience caring for children of a similar age.
- Toddler Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience with the toddler period is essential, including potty training and a sound understanding of developmental milestones.
- Multiples Experience: Experience caring for twins or multiple children at once is highly valuable.
- Qualifications: Formal qualifications in Early Years, Teaching or a related field are essential (BA or similar formal academic background). Online courses alone are not sufficient unless accompanied by formal training.
- First Aid: A valid Paediatric First Aid certificate is essential.
- Languages: Proficient English is essential (it does not need to be your first language). Spanish is desirable.
- Location: Candidates should ideally be based in a major city with a journey to Dubai of no more than 8 hours. Local candidates based in Dubai are also welcome to apply.
- Availability: Ideally available for a trial and to start ASAP.
- Personal Qualities: Warm, energetic, patient and highly organised, with excellent judgement, discretion and a genuine team-player attitude.
What Is Offered
- Compensation: Up to £90,000 gross per annum.
- Travel: Economy flights to and from Dubai for each rotation are covered by the family.
- Rotational Lifestyle: A 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule, giving you a full two weeks of personal time between rotations.
- Supportive Team Structure: Daytime shared care with a second nanny, plus flexibility to go into town, exercise or rest during nap periods.
- Long-Term Stability: A long-term position with a UHNW family and an established, well-organised childcare team.
