Part-time Nanny for a Baby and Toddler in Wimbledon, London, UK

£22.00 - £25.00 hourly

Job Description

Part-time live-out nanny – Wimbledon, London – £22 to £25 gross per hour – start as soon as possible

A friendly Wimbledon family would like an experienced, caring and professional part-time nanny whose main focus will be their newborn. You would look after the baby's everyday care, feeds, sleep and development, and as the job grows there may be scope to help more with their older son too. It suits a nanny with a strong background in infant care who wants something steady and long term.

  • Area: Wimbledon, in south-west London
  • Children: two boys, aged 2 years and about 9 weeks
  • Hours: roughly 25 a week, all year round
  • Preferred pattern: 4.30pm to 8pm Monday to Friday, plus 7am to 9am on Tuesdays and Thursdays (days and times can flex), and extra babysitting
  • Pay: £22 to £25 an hour gross, open to negotiation for the right person
  • Start: as soon as possible
  • Live-out, no pets

The parents are happy to talk about other arrangements, and would also consider someone who can only do afternoons and evenings. The routine hardly changes through the year because the older boy goes to a day nursery rather than school. One parent will usually be at home with him. A housekeeper already works for the family, so beyond light tidying linked to the baby there is no housework.

What the job involves

  • Loving, attentive care for the baby, suited to their stage of development
  • Bottle feeds, naps and sleep routines that fit the baby's age
  • Setting up a calm bedtime routine and keeping it consistent
  • Play and interaction that helps the baby's early development
  • Keeping the baby safe, comfortable and well at all times
  • Keeping the baby's spaces neat, including light tidying related to their care
  • Working with the parents so the children's routines stay consistent
  • Possibly giving more help with the older child over time

Who the family are looking for

  • Lots of professional experience with young babies
  • Confident with bottle feeding, naps and evening bedtimes
  • Calm, patient and nurturing, and very tuned in to what a baby needs
  • Able to work on your own while keeping the parents well informed
  • Professional and dependable, looking for a medium- to long-term role

Pay and hours can be discussed with the right candidate.
