Executive Assistant to a High-Profile Principal, with Relocation to Doha, Qatar

£75,000 - £97,000 yearly

Job Description

Executive Assistant to a High-Profile Principal – relocation to Doha, Qatar – £75,000 to £97,000 a year tax-free, plus accommodation allowance – permanent

A well-known Middle Eastern Principal is looking for an outstanding Executive Assistant to move to Doha and give dedicated one-to-one support. The Principal is warm, easy to work with and has a good sense of humour, and places great value on loyalty, discretion, good judgement and complete trust. You will be someone who plans ahead, spots what is needed before being asked and makes things run smoothly, rather than simply keeping a diary. The job is mainly business-focused and based in modern offices in Doha's commercial district, with occasional international trips alongside the Principal (around two or three a year). Some flexibility and out-of-hours availability will be needed, especially while the Principal is travelling.

  • Location: Doha, Qatar (relocation required), with occasional international travel
  • Contract: permanent
  • Salary: £75,000 to £97,000 a year, tax-free, depending on experience
  • Benefits: monthly accommodation allowance, 40 days' annual leave plus national holidays, and one paid return flight home each year

What you will do

  • Run a busy, complex diary of meetings and appointments
  • Look after emails and correspondence
  • Put together agendas, presentations and briefing papers for meetings
  • Set up and maintain a paper filing system for key documents
  • Work with the protocol team ahead of meetings so that AV and catering are arranged
  • Be the first point of contact for everything relating to the Principal
  • Keep the office's annual holiday schedule up to date
  • Take minutes, write up summaries after meetings and make sure agreed actions reach the right people
  • Plan international travel, including flights, hotels and detailed itineraries
  • Book restaurants and handle other reservations and visa arrangements
  • Deal calmly with last-minute changes and moving priorities
  • Treat all confidential information with complete discretion

What the Principal is looking for

  • At least four years supporting people at a senior level as an EA
  • A track record of working for UHNW individuals, senior executives or C-suite leaders
  • Excellent spoken and written English (native English preferred)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A proactive approach, always a step ahead of what is needed
  • Very flexible and adaptable
  • Personable, with a good sense of humour
  • Real presence and sound judgement
  • Quick-thinking and sharp
  • Completely discreet and trustworthy
  • A good understanding of Middle Eastern culture
  • An interest in the arts; knowledge of the art world would be a plus
