- Salary: £60,000 gross a year, plus a £500 monthly allowance towards meals, transport and internet (£66,000 total package a year)
- Hours: usually 7:30am–7:30pm while the family are in the UK, depending on their plans; Saturdays are not normally worked, though the odd weekend may be needed for airport runs, special occasions or other family commitments
- Family's year: about 180 days in the UK and 180 days abroad; hours are much lower while they are away
Driving
- Drive family members and guests safely, punctually and discreetly
- Organise daily travel, including airport transfers, meetings, appointments and social events
- Keep the family's cars clean, well presented, safe and roadworthy
- Book servicing, maintenance, MOTs and insurance renewals when due
- Plan efficient routes and adjust to last-minute changes of plan
- Help family and guests with luggage and belongings when needed

- Run errands, do the shopping and handle deliveries and collections
- Help with luggage, packing, unpacking and getting the house ready
- Deal with household staff, contractors and outside suppliers when needed
- Support family arrivals and departures, guest visits and special occasions
- Anticipate what the household needs, take the initiative on practical matters, and work closely with the household management team
Property systems
- Get to know the home's electrics, heating, air conditioning, alarms, lighting controls and other technology, and learn to spot common faults
- Do simple troubleshooting and minor adjustments where it is safe to do so
- Report problems promptly, bring in the PA, building management, maintenance teams or contractors as needed, and follow up until they are fixed
- Help the PA keep the property secure, working properly and well maintained, especially while the family are away
- No specialist technical qualifications are needed, but you will need a practical attitude, willingness to learn, good problem-solving and a strong sense of responsibility

You won't need to come in every day; instead you will work with the family's PA on essential tasks, which may include watering plants and flowers and basic property checks; dealing with post, parcels and deliveries; small maintenance jobs that don't need a specialist, such as hanging pictures and securely fixing frames; TV settings and basic fixes to household equipment; taking and collecting dry cleaning; errands and household shopping; arranging exchanges, returns and collections; and other reasonable support for the PA.
What you will need
- Experience as a private chauffeur, ideally for an HNW or UHNW household; a previous combined chauffeur and houseman role would be a real advantage
- A full, clean UK driving licence and excellent knowledge of London's roads and airports
