Job Description

Part-time Nanny / Housekeeper – Shadwell, Leeds, West Yorkshire – Thursdays – start ASAP

A family in Shadwell, on the edge of Leeds, would like a nanny / housekeeper for one day a week, starting as soon as possible. There are four children, aged 8, 8, 10 and 13. The family are flexible about the hours.

  • Location: Shadwell, Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Day and hours: Thursdays, 11am to 5pm, or 8.30am to 5pm if you are happy to do cleaning as well; the family are flexible on hours
  • Start: ASAP
  • Children: four, aged 8, 8, 10 and 13
  • Animals: a dog, outdoor cats, sheep and a peacock
  • Driving: you must drive and have your own car

The role includes

  • Doing the school run and the drop-off at ballet class
  • Taking in the online grocery delivery and putting it away
  • Preparing two meals for the whole family
  • Putting the children's clothes away and tidying their bedrooms
  • Helping with reading and homework

Story so far

I’m Lyndsey, founder of The Yorkshire Nanny Company.

I adopted the business in 2016 after working with children both within nurseries and private homes for over ten years. It was a natural move for me, having just had my second child Will. It is no secret, that children are drawn to me, and I them.

I was brought up in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Me and my sister would spend our childhood riding our bikes up and down our lane, feeding the cows and collecting the eggs from our chickens’ huts. I can honestly say that these were some of my happiest times and helped make me the person that I am today.

I have my own little family now, made up of Ellie (four), William (three) and daddy Mark. Our life on our own farm is busy, made up of trips to agricultural shows and auctions with our home-reared cows and sheep, balmy summer nights playing in the yard, book ended, always with a bedtime story read by daddy. I guess I have recreated the happy childhood that I had.
