After-school Nanny – St Albans, moving to Harpenden – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – £20–£22 gross per hour – start ASAP
A family who live in St Albans now, and plan to move to Harpenden a few months after you start, need an after-school nanny for their two children, aged 10 and 7. Both places will need to work for you. This is a long-term job, and you will be in sole charge, as the parents do not usually work from home.
- Location: St Albans, then Harpenden after the move
- Days: three fixed days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Term-time hours: 2pm to 7pm. If you would like to do a morning school run as well, even on just one of the days, those hours can be added, but the afternoons are what the family really need
- School holidays: the 15-hour weekly base stays the same, though it may be arranged differently (for example two days from 9am to 4.30pm), or extra hours may be offered as overtime
- Pay: £20–£22 gross per hour depending on experience, which is £15,600 to £17,160 gross a year
- Start: as soon as possible
- Driving: you must drive and have your own car to use for work; a duty car may be offered after the move, but this isn't certain
- Ofsted: not required
- Other: no pets and no SEN needs; the family are happy for you to bring your own child to work
Duties
- Sole charge of both children after school
- Before the school pick-up, some light help around the house: tidying, laundry and ironing, and cooking the children's tea
