Full-time Nanny – Hitchin, Hertfordshire – £40,000–£46,800 per year

A family in Hitchin is looking for a full-time nanny for their two young boys, who will be 1 and 3½ when you start. The role is ongoing. The older boy will still go to preschool part time until he starts school in September; the younger one will be with you all day.

• Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
• Days and hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
• Children: two boys, aged 12 months and 3½
• Salary: £40,000 up to £46,800, depending on your experience and qualifications
• Start: ideally late November or early December, though the family can wait until January for the right person
• Ofsted registration: not required
• Pets: none

More about the role

• One parent works from home every day, but from a garden office, so they will stay out of the way
• Driving would be useful but is not essential, as the home is a 10-minute walk from town; driving does make it easier to go further afield for activities
• If you drive, the family can probably provide an automatic duty car
• Nursery duties only: the boys' laundry and meals, and tidying up after them and yourself
• The family would love you to take the boys out to classes and activities so they mix with other children
• They want someone sociable, warm and loving who is happy to be outdoors. The older boy can take a while to settle, so a patient, nurturing nanny who lets him warm up to them is important
• They would prefer a nanny without their own child, but would consider one coming along part time for the right person
