After-school Nanny – Baldock, Hertfordshire – £25,000 gross per year – permanent, January start

A family in Baldock needs an after-school nanny for their two children, aged 4 and 7. It is a permanent, sole-charge role, four days a week, with some house help built in. One parent works from home each day but leaves you to get on with things.

• Location: Baldock, Hertfordshire
• Days: Monday to Thursday
• Term-time hours: 1.30pm to 6pm (6.30pm on two of the days), 19 hours a week
• Private school holidays: 8am to 6pm on all four days, 40 hours a week
• Average: about 26.5 hours a week
• Salary: £25,000 gross per year
• Start: January; permanent
• Children: aged 4 and 7

The role

• Sole charge; a parent is at home working each day but does not get involved
• Ofsted registration is not required
• You must drive and have your own car for work use; the family may provide a duty car soon after you start, but they can't say when
• No pets
• Before the school run, help around the house (no cleaning): batch cooking, family laundry, ironing (ideally), the food shop, clearing up the kitchen and dishwasher, a quick hoover and any everyday errands
• The role is not suitable for a nanny who would bring their own child
