• Location: Near Salisbury, Wiltshire (live-in; accommodation provided)
• Hours: Full time, five days a week; early starts, late finishes, weekends and occasional travel as required
• Salary: £45,000–£50,000 gross per year, depending on experience

A private family seek an experienced, personable live-in Butler for their rural estate near Salisbury. The estate is both a family home and a place of hospitality, welcoming guests for country weekends, shooting, dining and events. The role is hands-on hospitality – warm and polished rather than overly formal.

Responsibilities

• Daily service for the principals, family and guests
• Welcome guests and look after them throughout their stay
• Formal and informal food and beverage service for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and drinks
• Support shooting days, country weekends, outdoor dining and private events
• Prepare guest-facing rooms (fires, lighting, flowers, music, drinks, table settings)
• Serve wines and spirits confidently; maintain bars, glassware, silverware and service areas
• Pack and unpack luggage; prepare for family travel
• Liaise with the House Manager, chefs, housekeepers and estate team; brief temporary waiting staff
• Anticipate needs, remember guest preferences, run errands and help with household requests

Requirements

• Butler, private-household or high-end hospitality experience
• Strong front-of-house and food and beverage skills; interest in wine and spirits
• Warm, polished, discreet and practical; calm during busy guest periods
• Full UK driving licence; live within commuting distance of Salisbury or willing to relocate
• Flexible hours; excellent verifiable references; right to work in the UK
