Butler / Valet – Mayfair, London, plus some travel – Live-out – £65,000–£70,000 per annum

• Salary: £65,000–£70,000 per annum
• Experience: At least five years as a butler and valet is essential

A highly respected principal spends around six months of the year in London with his wife and children and also travels extensively. You will mainly be based in the Mayfair home, but be ready to travel.

The role combines butler and personal valet duties for the principal. This is not a house manager role: the client is looking for a calm, knowledgeable Butler and Valet who is front of house and can help run the residence.

The staff around the principal stay for many years and the family are superb employers.

Must haves

• Able to travel unencumbered for a couple of weeks at a time when needed
• Wardrobe care, packing and unpacking
• Able to mentor and train other staff
• Serving at table
• Taking an inventory of fine objects and art
• Meeting and greeting with aplomb
• Able to take responsibility, but happy to run errands too
• A driver
• Fit, organised and good with a long-serving team
