Job Description
Live-in Nanny / Governess – Oxford – £60,000–£70,000 gross per annum
A family in Oxford is looking for an experienced, well-educated Nanny/Governess for their two school-aged children.
- Start: ASAP
- Location: Oxford
- Working hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 6.30am–8pm with a three to four hour break during the day (likely early finish on Saturdays)
- Salary: £60,000–£70,000 gross per annum
Overview
The ideal candidate will be switched-on and highly organised, ideally with a background in teaching, tutoring or education. You will work closely with Mum, who likes to be hands-on when she can be.
The day starts at 6.30am with the morning routine and getting the children off to school. You will be on duty until midday for admin and planning, then take a break, coming back on duty in the afternoon for school pick-ups, activities and homework before the evening routines.
The family travels extensively during every school holiday and throughout the summer, so candidates must be highly flexible and comfortable accompanying the family internationally for extended periods. This is a busy, fully staffed household, so strong communication is key.
Duties include
- Supporting the children's educational development, including homework and exam preparation
- Planning activities and organising play dates
- Managing all school admin, including routines, schedules and liaising with the school
- School runs and taking the children to extra-curricular activities
- Encouraging independence
- Travelling with the family
- Working with the parents and the wider household team
