At the heart of this position is the opportunity to become a trusted companion and positive influence in the life of a wonderful seven-year-old boy. He is a bright, polite and gentle-natured child with a lovely personality, and the family are looking for someone who will genuinely enjoy spending time with him and take an interest in his world. This is much more than a traditional childcare role; the successful candidate will become an important part of his day-to-day life, providing companionship, encouragement and guidance as he grows in confidence and independence. The ideal Nanny/Companion will be someone who naturally connects with children of this age and understands the importance of having a trusted adult who can listen, encourage and gently guide them. Someone who can become a positive role model, encourage healthy social development and help him explore interests beyond the classroom will be particularly well suited. The relationship will be built around trust, empathy and mutual respect. The family are looking for someone who is warm and emotionally intuitive, who knows when to offer guidance and when simply to listen, and who can encourage the child to develop his own confidence, interests and independence. The successful candidate will support aspects of his school and social diary, encourage activities and interests outside the curriculum and help make his time outside school varied, stimulating and enjoyable. A naturally active and creative personality would be a real asset, as would someone who takes genuine pleasure in discovering what interests him and finding new experiences to share.
