An American and German professional family is seeking an experienced Career Nanny to join them ahead of the arrival of their first child, due in mid-November 2026.

This is a rare opportunity to become a long-term member of a warm, internationally based family. The successful candidate will initially be based in Cincinnati, Ohio for the birth and early postpartum period before relocating with the family to Berlin, Germany. Occasional international travel between the United States and Germany will also be required.

The family is looking for a dedicated childcare professional who is passionate about newborn care, early childhood development and building a lasting relationship with one family over many years.

Responsibilities

✓ Providing exceptional, attentive and nurturing sole-charge care for one child

✓ Supporting the newborn through all developmental milestones

✓ Establishing consistent feeding, sleeping and daily routines

✓ Confidently implementing sleep training when developmentally appropriate

✓ Planning age-appropriate sensory play and developmental activities

✓ Encouraging early language development and learning through play

✓ Maintaining the nursery, wardrobe and all child-related organisation

✓ Monitoring developmental progress and communicating regularly with the parents

✓ Travelling internationally with the family between the United States and Germany as required

✓ Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality

Essential Requirements

✓ Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a Career Nanny

✓ Extensive newborn experience (essential)

✓ Proven sole-charge experience within private households

✓ Strong knowledge of infant development, sleep routines and developmental milestones

✓ Current Paediatric First Aid and CPR certification

✓ Fluent English or German (both languages highly desirable)

✓ Clean driving licence

✓ Non-smoker

✓ Strong, professional and checkable references

✓ Comfortable travelling internationally

Preferred

✓ Fluent in both English and German

✓ Additional language(s)

✓ Experience working with internationally mobile or UHNW families

✓ Previous long-term placements with private families
