A warm and informal private family household, located near Kingham between Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold, is seeking an experienced and proactive Housekeeper/Cleaner to help maintain its full-time residence to an excellent standard.

This is a hands-on cleaning position suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and can work independently. The successful candidate will be discreet, trustworthy, organised and respectful of the family’s privacy.

Responsibilities:

Undertaking all general hands-on housekeeping and cleaning
Carrying out deep cleaning and seasonal cleaning
Cleaning and caring for bedrooms, bathrooms and reception rooms
Maintaining excellent presentation and organisation throughout the residence
Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
Changing beds and managing household linens
Cleaning and caring for household surfaces and furnishings
Keeping cleaning products and household supplies well stocked
Running occasional errands, including food and personal shopping
Flower arranging and attending to the finer details of the home
Assisting with informal or formal service when the family entertains
Caring for the family’s dog when required
Candidate requirements:

Previous professional housekeeping or cleaning experience, ideally within a private household or similarly high-standard environment
Excellent cleaning, laundry and ironing skills
A strong eye for detail and pride in maintaining a beautifully presented home
Discreet, trustworthy, proactive and respectful of professional boundaries
Able to work independently and manage daily priorities efficiently
Flexible and willing to assist with occasional additional household duties
Dog-friendly
A confident driver with a valid driving licence
Excellent references

Position details:

Location: Near Kingham, between Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds
Working days and hours: Five days per week, including weekends, with two days off in the week
Hours: Flexible according to the household’s requirements
Salary: £45,000+ depending on experience
Driving: Essential
