The principal responsibility is maintaining the home to a high standard, but the family is looking for more than someone who focuses solely on cleaning and laundry. The successful candidate should engage appropriately with the family, understand their day-to-day needs and respond flexibly when priorities change.
The role also includes preparing simple, healthy food, undertaking school runs and household errands, and interacting naturally with the family’s two daughters, aged five and seven.
The family employs a nanny who retains responsibility for the children’s overall care. This is therefore not a nanny position, although the Housekeeper should be warm with the children, comfortable chatting with them and capable of responding calmly and appropriately during school runs or in an unexpected situation.
Main Responsibilities
Housekeeping and Household Support
Maintaining the home to a consistently high standard
Cleaning and upkeep of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care

Simple Family Cooking
Preparing simple breakfasts and healthy family food as required
Making smoothies, salads and straightforward meals such as grilled chicken or fish
Confidently preparing everyday food without needing extensive guidance

Running household errands when required
Returning packages and collecting deliveries or dry cleaning
Using the family car responsibly and safely
A confident driver is strongly preferred and will have a significant advantage. However, the family may still consider an exceptional non-driving candidate who meets all the other requirements.
Interaction With the Children
Building a warm and natural rapport with the girls
Chatting and engaging with them appropriately during school runs
Remaining attentive and responsible while transporting them
Responding calmly and sensibly in an emergency or unexpected situation
Working cooperatively with the family’s nanny, who oversees the children’s overall care
