A lovely opportunity to join a friendly family with a calm, respectful working environment. A proactive Housekeeper/Cook is required for a private household. The role is varied and requires someone with high standards, initiative, and a calm, flexible approach.

Key Duties
– General household cleaning and upkeep to a high standard
– Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
– Care of delicate fabrics and household items
– Arranging fresh flowers throughout the home
– Provisioning, menu planning, shopping & family Cooking
– Table setting and clearing
– Care and maintenance of antique furniture and household items, ensuring appropriate cleaning and preservation methods are used
– General household organisation and presentation

Experience

– 5 years + experience in a similar private household role
– Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards
– Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of family privacy
– Able to work independently and as part of a household team
– Comfortable working around antiques and high-value items
– Enjoy working with children & family pets
– Excellent references & a DBS check
– Car driver with own transport

This is a long-term position within a well-run household where standards are important, but the environment is respectful and supportive. The successful candidate will become part of a trusted household and is expected to take pride in maintaining the home to an excellent standard.
Previous experience in private households and familiarity with service, housekeeping routines, and family life is preferred.

Monday – Friday/9am – 5pm

Maximum of 4 weekend days per month will be required/10am – 6pm (when working weekends days off during the week will be given, so always a 5 day working week)

If live-in an attractive 1 bedroom accommodation is provided (single occupancy only)

Salary £ 45,000 – £ 60,000 gross p.a (dependent on if live-in or live-out)
