Job Description

We are currently seeking a professional, experienced, and education-focused Governess to join a private family in Sharjah.

The successful candidate will provide educational support, guidance, and structured after-school care for four children aged 4, 10, 12, and 14 years old. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, organized, and passionate about children's learning and development while fostering a positive and engaging environment.

European nationals will be given priority, although we are also open to strong English-speaking candidates and native English speakers with relevant experience.

The Ideal Candidate Should Be

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Arabic is desirable but not essential
• European nationality preferred
• Warm, patient, and naturally engaging with children
• Experienced as a Governess, Teacher, Private Educator, or similar educational role
• Passionate about education and child development
• Organized, proactive, and able to establish effective routines
• Confident supporting children of different ages and learning abilities
• Professional, discreet, and well-presented
• Able to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the family

 Job Details

• Live-out position
• Based in Sharjah
• Start date: End of August
• Working hours primarily in the afternoons
• Morning responsibility includes dropping the children to school
• Salary: AED 12,000–15,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications 

Main Responsibilities

• Provide educational guidance and academic support for four children aged 4, 10, 12, and 14 years
• Assist with homework, revision, and school projects
• Encourage age-appropriate learning, independence, and positive study habits
• Plan engaging educational and creative activities
• Support English language development and, where applicable, Arabic language development
• Establish structured and productive after-school routines
• Coordinate children's schedules and extracurricular activities when required
• Drop the children to school each morning
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding the children's academic progress and development
• Create a positive, encouraging, and well-structured learning environment

 Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Governess, Teacher, Private Educator, Tutor, or in a similar educational role
• Fluent English is essential
• Arabic language skills are desirable but not essential
• European nationality preferred; strong English-speaking/native English candidates will also be considered
• Strong educational background; teaching, education, or early childhood qualifications are highly desirable
• Valid UAE driving license is required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
