A friendly and welcoming family based in Lytham St Annes is looking for an experienced Temporary Nanny or Maternity Nanny to provide holiday cover when their regular nanny is unavailable.

The role will involve caring for a happy and settled one-year-old baby who is already in a lovely, well-established routine. The family is looking for someone calm, confident and nurturing who can step in smoothly and maintain the baby’s usual schedule.

Dates and Hours

The dates currently confirmed are:

  • Tuesday 29 September 2026: 9:30am–5:00pm
  • Wednesday 30 September 2026: 9:30am–5:00pm
  • Thursday 1 October 2026: 24-hour booking

There will also be the opportunity for further ad hoc holiday cover in the future.

Duties

The role will include:

  • Providing attentive and nurturing care for the baby
  • Following the baby’s established routine
  • Preparing and offering age-appropriate meals, snacks and milk
  • Supporting naps and bedtime
  • Planning suitable play and developmental activities
  • Taking the baby out for walks and local activities
  • Completing nursery duties relating to the baby
  • Keeping play and sleeping areas clean and organised
  • Providing full care throughout the 24-hour booking, including any overnight support required

This would be a lovely opportunity for a local experienced nanny or maternity nanny looking for some ad-hoc work with a friendly family and a happy, settled baby.

Candidate Requirements: 

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet all of the usual Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency criteria, which include:

 
• Previous professional nanny experience caring for babies and young children
• A recognised childcare or maternity qualification
• A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• A valid 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Excellent, checkable references
• The right to work in the UK
• A warm, reliable and professional approach
• Confidence working independently and following an established routine
• Comfortable around the family dog
