Permanent, Live out

Happy Nest is delighted to be supporting a warm and professional family based in Mobberley, Cheshire, who are looking for a highly experienced, discreet and exceptional career nanny to join their household on a long-term basis.

Having reviewed their childcare arrangements, the family are now able to offer a much more attractive minimum 40-hour working week. They have additional support in place, allowing them to reduce the hours and provide a better work-life balance for the successful nanny.

The 40 hours will be scheduled flexibly according to the family’s requirements, with working patterns discussed and agreed in advance. Some overnight support will be required, together with occasional weekend availability. Plenty of notice will be given wherever possible for overtime opportunities

The family have recently welcomed their second child and also have a three-year-old who attends nursery for part of the week. Both parents have busy professional lives and are looking for a calm, capable and highly organised nanny who can provide exceptional care and consistency for their growing family.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished career nanny who has previously worked within private households or for high-profile families where professionalism, discretion and flexibility are essential.

The successful candidate will be warm, emotionally intelligent and confident in their abilities. They will provide an outstanding standard of care while fitting naturally into family life and maintaining excellent professional boundaries.

Mum is very hands-on, and the family also have additional maternity and childcare support in place. The nanny must therefore be comfortable working collaboratively and respectfully alongside the parents and other childcare professionals.

The family may consider transitioning the position into a 7 days on/7 days off rota arrangement in the future. However, they are also open to retaining the successful candidate on a permanent 40-hour-per-week basis if this continues to work well for everyone.

About the Role

The ideal nanny will have considerable experience caring for children across different ages and developmental stages, with particularly strong professional experience of newborns, babies and preschool-aged children.

The nanny will understand the changing needs of a young baby while also providing stimulating, nurturing and age-appropriate care for a bright and active three-year-old.

The role will involve complete care of the children and all usual nursery duties, including supporting routines, preparing healthy meals and snacks, planning activities, completing nursery runs, managing the children’s laundry and wardrobes, keeping their areas organised and ensuring each day runs smoothly.

As the baby grows, the nanny should be confident supporting developmental milestones, introducing weaning at the appropriate stage and offering knowledgeable guidance around feeding, nutrition, sleep, routines, play and early learning.

The family are looking for someone practical and experienced who can anticipate what needs to be done, plan ahead and take genuine pride in creating a calm, happy and well-organised environment for the children.

Activities should be varied, engaging and suited to each child’s age and development. These may include outdoor play, baby and toddler classes, creative activities, reading, music, sensory play, trips to the park and experiences that encourage confidence, independence, communication and social development.

The family travel within the UK and internationally, so previous experience travelling with families is essential. The nanny must be confident packing and preparing for the children, maintaining their routines while away and adapting calmly to different locations and schedules.
