1698689: House Manager for UHNW Property in Surrey, UK

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced House Manager to join a prestigious UHNW private residence in Surrey, near Bagshot. Responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of a large, fully staffed household, you will oversee a permanent team of approximately 25 staff, increasing to 40-50 when the principals are in residence.
 
This role would suit an experienced hospitality professional with a background in luxury yachting, UHNW private households or five-star hotels, who has progressed into a management position through either Food & Beverage or Housekeeping. Exceptional standards of service, presentation and operational excellence are consistently maintained at this property, so a brilliant eye for detail and terrific organisational skills are required.
 
Standard Monday to Friday working hours will be expected when the family are not in residence, with greater flexibility required in terms of shift hours and days when the family and/or their guests are resident. Should accommodation be required, this will be offered in an en-suite bedroom within the staff house, which is separate from the main house.
 
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Lead, manage and motivate a team of approximately 25 staff, expanding to 40-50 during periods of residence
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the household, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional service standards
• Coordinate staff rotas, departmental workflows and communication to ensure the household operates efficiently
• Work closely with the Estate Manager to implement operational procedures and maintain the highest standards throughout the property
• Support the team in a hands-on capacity when required, particularly during busy periods or when the principals are in residence
• Maintain a positive, professional and collaborative working environment while upholding complete discretion and confidentiality

 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a House Manager, Assistant House Manager or senior departmental manager within a UHNW private household, luxury yacht or five-star hotel
• Strong operational background in either Food & Beverage service or Housekeeping, with proven team management experience
• Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
• Flexible approach to working hours, with availability to adapt when the principals are in residence
