A family based in South Kensington is looking for a proactive and experienced nanny to care for their 8-month-old son. The family is open to either a full-time or part-time arrangement and is looking for someone seeking a long-term position.

Children
One boy aged 8 months.
The child has an egg and dairy intolerance.

Working Hours
Option 1 – Full-Time
Monday to Thursday: 9:30am to 7:30pm.
Friday: 9:30am to 5:30pm.
48 standard hours per week.
The salary reflects the flexibility required to work occasional additional hours, averaging approximately 50 hours per week.
Flexibility required on Fridays for occasional evening cover.
Availability to work one weekend day, either Saturday or Sunday, approximately every four to six weeks is preferred.

Option 2 – Part-Time
Thursday: 9:30am to 7:30pm.
Friday: 9:30am to 5:30pm.
Saturday: 9:30am to 5:30pm.
26 hours per week.
Flexibility required for occasional evening cover on Fridays or Saturdays.

Salary
Option 1 – Full-Time
£52,000 – £54,500 gross per annum.
Approximately £1,000 – £1,048 gross per week.
Equivalent to approximately £20 – £21 gross per hour, based on an average 50-hour working week.

Option 2 – Part-Time
£20 – £21 gross per hour.
Approximately £520 – £546 gross per week.

September or October 2026.

Role Overview
The nanny will be responsible for the child’s daily care, routine, development and wellbeing while working collaboratively with the mother, who works from home.
For the part-time option, the nanny will work alongside the family’s existing nanny, who works Monday to Wednesday. The role will include sole charge care on Thursdays and Fridays.

Main Responsibilities
Provide attentive and developmentally appropriate care.
Manage the child’s daily routine.
Support feeding, sleep and hygiene routines.
Plan engaging and educational activities.
Encourage independence and good manners.
Provide calm emotional support.
Work collaboratively with the mother and existing nanny.
Maintain clear communication with the parents.
Follow the child’s dietary requirements carefully.

Nanny Duties
Prepare bottles, meals and snacks for the child.
Manage feeding and weaning routines.
Ensure all food is suitable for the child’s egg and dairy intolerance.
Follow and maintain sleep routines.
Change nappies and support the child’s hygiene.
Organise sensory play and age-appropriate activities.
Arrange educational outings and classes.
Support physical, emotional and cognitive development.
Help the child manage big emotions appropriately.
Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
Keep the child’s bedroom and play areas organised.
Manage the child’s laundry.
Pack and unpack the child’s belongings for travel.
Maintain the child’s equipment and supplies.

Child-Related Housekeeping
Keep the child’s bedroom tidy.
Keep play areas organised.
Wash and organise the child’s clothes.
Clean and organise bottles and feeding equipment.
Maintain the changing and nursery areas.
Monitor nappies, wipes, food and other child-related supplies.
Travel

Full-Time Role
The family has a second home in Sardinia, Italy, where they spend approximately six to eight weeks each year.
The full-time nanny will be expected to travel with the family for approximately four to five weeks during this period, with the remaining time taken as annual leave.
The nanny will usually work five days per week while travelling.
When travelling, the nanny may occasionally be required to share a bedroom with the child.
Additional occasional UK and international travel may be required.
The nanny will be responsible for the child’s travel belongings and arrangements.

Part-Time Role
For the part-time role, candidates who prefer not to travel may discuss a combination of paid and unpaid leave during the family’s summer travel periods.

Annual Leave – Full-Time Role
5.6 weeks of annual leave per year.
Annual leave should ideally be coordinated with the family’s holidays.
Approximately two weeks should be taken during the summer by mutual agreement.
Approximately one and a half weeks should be taken around Christmas and New Year.
Additional leave may be available around American Thanksgiving.

Previous professional nanny experience with babies.
Experience supporting early development and milestones.
Confident managing food intolerances.
Highly proactive and organised.
Intuitive and able to read the room.
Discreet and professional.
Confident working with a parent who works from home.
Comfortable working alongside another nanny.
Confident swimmer.
Full-time applicants must be confident drivers and willing to drive in Italy.
Italian speaker strongly preferred.
Right to work in the UK.
Passport allowing visa-free travel within Europe.
Comfortable with approximately four to five weeks of travel in Italy each year for the full-time role.
Comfortable occasionally sharing a bedroom with the child while travelling for the full-time role.
Comfortable with occasional UK and international travel.
Flexible regarding occasional evenings and additional hours.
