Contract: Full-time, permanent position
Core schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm; evening and weekend availability is expected when the family is in residence (terms discussed at interview)
Location: Nyon area, Switzerland
Start date: Flexible for the right candidate
Salary range: CHF 150'000 – 220'000, positioned according to seniority and scope of responsibility
 

The Role

On behalf of a private client based in Switzerland, we are seeking a seasoned Estate Manager to oversee the daily operations of a high-standard private residence in the Nyon area. Reporting to a line manager based abroad, this is a role of genuine autonomy and trust: the Estate Manager takes initiative, makes sound day-to-day decisions independently, and acts as the reliable guardian of the property and the family's interests. You will lead an established, long-serving team, with a collaborative leadership style suited to this environment.

Responsibilities

Indoor & Outdoor Property Maintenance

  • Manage household staff, contractors and suppliers
  • Supervise cleaning and laundry procedures to ensure the highest standards
  • Organise and maintain interior furnishings, improvements and floral arrangements
  • Maintain and enhance landscaping, lawns and outdoor furniture
  • Ensure upkeep and cleanliness of pool and spa

Fleet Management

  • Oversee the drivers to ensure maintenance and cleanliness of all vehicles
  • Coordinate with the Family Office on registration, insurance, parking permits and emergency preparedness

Security

  • Ensure proper operation of the security systems and the overall safety of all persons and belongings on the property

Financial & Administrative

  • Prepare the annual property budget with the Family Office and ensure adherence to it
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and other property obligations
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of corporate cards and house petty cash

Hospitality (when the family is in residence)

  • Create a comfortable, welcoming environment tailored to the family's needs
  • Provide concierge-level services: reservations and appointments at restaurants, spas, medical facilities and more
  • Schedule airport transfers for the family and guests
  • Organise and coordinate private events, celebrations and gatherings

Your Profile

  • 8+ years of experience in estate or household management, including proven responsibility for staff and budgets
  • Fluent in English and French (minimum B2)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Trustworthy above all, with absolute confidentiality and discretion
  • Independent and proactive: comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy
  • A collaborative leadership style suited to an established, long-serving team — leading by example, with rigour and attention to detail
  • A strong, dependable advocate for the family's interests at all times
  • Successful completion of background checks (candidates will be informed of the scope and data handling in advance)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Priority will be given to candidates already based in Switzerland or holding a valid Swiss work permit.
