About the Role

A warm and welcoming private family based in Cannes, France, is seeking an experienced, professional, and nurturing English-French Speaking Governess to support the education and language development of their two young children.The family already employs two full-time nannies responsible for the children's daily care and routines. This role is therefore focused on education, bilingual language immersion, early years development, etiquette, and creating engaging learning experiences.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governess, bilingual educator, private tutor, early childhood teacher, Montessori professional, or language specialist looking to join a fully staffed private household.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver complete English and French language immersion throughout each session.
• Foster natural language acquisition through everyday communication.
• Plan and deliver engaging educational activities suitable for the children's developmental stages.
• Read books, sing songs, play educational games, and encourage creative learning.
• Teach the English and French alphabet, numbers, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills.
• Encourage confidence in speaking both English and French.
• Support early childhood education through structured learning.
• Teach good manners, etiquette, social skills, and positive behaviour.
• Prepare educational activities that stimulate curiosity and independent thinking.
• Create and maintain a monthly educational schedule outlining activities, classes, and learning objectives for the parents.
• Track educational progress and communicate regularly with the family.
• Work collaboratively with the family's existing childcare team.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Governess, Private Tutor, Early Years Educator, Teacher, or similar role within a private household or educational setting.
• Fluency in both English (C1 or above) and French (C1 or above).
• Excellent spoken communication skills in both languages.
• A genuine passion for children's education and development.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• A patient, calm, and positive approach.
• The ability to engage young children through interactive learning.
• High levels of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a fully staffed household.
