British Native English Governess / Nanny

Location: Cyprus
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (2 years)
Schedule: Rotational (2, 3, or 4 days on / 2, 3, or 4 days off)
Working Hours: Up to 12 hours per working day
Relocation: Required

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: €4,500 net per month

  • Housing allowance: €1,000 per month

  • Meals provided during working hours

  • 14 paid working days of annual leave per year

Family Overview

A professional, structured, and internationally minded UHNW family is seeking a young, energetic, and well-educated British Governess/Nanny to join their established childcare team.

The family has three children (two school-aged and one infant). The children are multilingual, and the family places strong emphasis on:

  • English language development

  • Manners and etiquette

  • Strong values and respectful behaviour

  • Emotional wellbeing

The Governess/Nanny will work as part of a rota team and support the children’s development through structured activities, learning, and daily interaction.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise stimulating, age-appropriate activities

  • Support English language development through reading, conversation, and structured play

  • Encourage good manners, etiquette, and positive social behaviour

  • Support the children’s emotional wellbeing and developmental milestones

  • Maintain structured routines and learning environments

  • Ensure the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times

  • Accompany the family on travel when required

  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

  • Provide monthly written progress reports

Requirements

  • British Governess/Nanny with native-level English and a refined Received Pronunciation (RP) accent

  • British passport

  • 5–10 years of professional governess experience preferred (not exceeding 15 years)

  • Experience working with mixed age groups, including infants and school-aged children

  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning activities

  • Young, energetic, sporty, and able to actively engage children in outdoor play and activities

  • Ability to promote excellent manners, etiquette, and respectful behaviour

  • Warm, calm, reliable, and professional personality

  • A strong record of longevity in previous roles is essential

  • Candidates with frequent job changes or multiple short-term positions will not be considered

  • Confident swimmer

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a rota childcare team

  • Valid driving licence (no child transportation required)
