About the Family

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a creative and welcoming family based in London. The family consists of two professional artist parents and their bright, engaging 4-year-old daughter who attends school Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm in term time.

The parents value flexibility, open communication, and a collaborative approach to childcare. They are looking for a warm, proactive nanny who will become a trusted and integral part of their household, providing attentive care and enriching activities for their daughter.

The Role

The family is seeking an energetic, engaging nanny who will provide nurturing care and create a stimulating environment for their daughter. This role involves after-school care, weekend support, occasional overnight stays, and some light household duties related to the child.

Schedule

Tuesday-Thursday: 3pm (school pickup) - 7:30pm (with flexibility to stay later approximately once per week)

Friday: 3pm - overnight when requested (staying at the family home)

Saturday: Morning wake-up -6pm

Days off: Sunday and Monday

Key Responsibilities

Providing warm, attentive care for their 4-year-old daughter

School pickup via bus at 3pm

Organising and facilitating after-school activities, playdates, and outings including library visits, playgrounds, climbing gym, drama workshops, and other enriching activities

Supporting homework and proactively engaging in book reading, art projects, imaginative play, and educational activities (no television is allowed in the home)

Preparing healthy, nutritious meals for the child

Managing the child's laundry and wardrobe throughout the week

Light household support including kitchen tidying, loading/unloading dishwasher, wiping counters, and picking up groceries as needed

Maintaining a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for the child

Occasional overnight care (1-3 consecutive nights every 6 weeks or so when parents travel)

Willingness to travel domestically within the UK and internationally to the US and EU with the family

The Ideal Candidate

Happy to support with light housekeeping related to the child and kitchen

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a nanny or in a similar childcare role

Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Strong references from previous employers

Excellent communication skills

Availability for regular Friday overnight stays

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with the family
