JE0511: Live-in Driving Nanny in St Brelade, Jersey

Nanny & Governess is seeking a warm, experienced, and dedicated Live-In Nanny for a kind and academic family relocating from London to Jersey in March 2026. The nanny may also begin working with the family in London prior to the move, depending on availability. The family have two young children—a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy—and are looking for someone nurturing, flexible, and that would be willing to commit to a long-term, three-year placement.

This position offers excellent accommodation and support. Once in Jersey, the nanny will have a private studio with its own entrance, access to a car, and a work visa will be provided. There is a housekeeper, so no housekeeping duties are required. The role is based in London until March 2026; during that period, live-out is preferred, though accommodation can be provided if needed.

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, with a long break during school/nursery hours. Some weekend babysitting may be required. The family will live in St Brelade, Jersey, an outdoorsy, coastal area well suited to someone active, nature-loving, and enthusiastic about island life.

The nanny will play a central role in the children’s development and daily lives. Responsibilities include:

• Providing structure, warmth, and emotional support

• Encouraging independence, creativity, and confidence

• Planning educational and age-appropriate activities

• Preparing simple, healthy dinners for the children

• Helping the children explore and try new foods in engaging, positive ways

• School and nursery drop-offs and pick-ups

• Supporting bedtime routines

• Caring for the family dogs and being able to manage their care when the family travels

• Being open to assisting with a newborn in the future
  
  

The ideal candidate will have prior live-in nanny experience, be warm, loving and a confident English speaker. She should be highly flexible, proactive, well-organised, and able to set gentle but effective boundaries. The family are seeking someone outdoorsy, dog-friendly, and sociable—someone who will embrace life in Jersey, make friends easily, and not feel homesick. A strong commitment to a long-term role is essential. A driver is also essential.

Salary: £75,000 gross per annum.
